Please be patient with us as we (and you) will be operating under very different conditions:
All of our employees must wear a mask -- as must all customers.
We will have separate, one-way Entrance and Exit doors marked upstairs (front of store) and downstairs (back of store).
Please adhere to the 6' social distancing rule as much as possible. There will be arrows and marks on the floor near the registers. The registers in use have Plexiglas or plastic sheeting to minimize possible contact points. We also have capacity limits (though ours is relatively high), so please be tolerant if you have to wait a bit to enter the store, go down a particular aisle or to make your purchase.
We'll have small bottles of hand sanitizer around the store, and feel free to ask for some if you don't see it. Our public rest rooms (2) have always been one-person only and have hot water, soap and high-volume air dryers.
We will frequently clean public surfaces -- register areas, counters, railings, handles etc., and we humbly ask for your cooperation in not picking up every piece of merchandise. We know that's hard NOT to do at Vidler's, but if you can minimize the touchy/feely except for those items that you intend to purchase -- we will be very appreciative.
We look very forward to seeing all of our friends and customers again. Thanks in advance for your patience, understanding, cooperation and sense of humor as we enter this new phase.
With over 75,000 items spread through 4 buildings on 2 levels, this is a shopping experience you won't find on-line! Historic, nostalgic and just plain fun, you can spend hours here and still won't see everything in this 5 & 10 cent store!
Easily spent 2 hours there browsing through my childhood and wanting to buy everything. It made for a great day trip. Can't wait to go back. Employees were nice and helpful.
This place is awesome! Any and everything you could need or want and some. Travel back in time checking out toys and candy from your childhood. Prices are good and the employees are very friendly. Plan on spending a bit of time there, because you will lose track of time reminiscing on the good old days as well as today's favorites.
Very nice. Had seen their commercials on Buffalo TV and always wanted to visit. If you can't find it there, you don't need it. Many speciality items and hard to find vintage items. Tons of housewares. Stop by and see them at Christmas time as I understand the place is literally a winter wonderland of decoration. Huge selection of penny candy as well. Staff very friendly and very helpful. We definitely will make a drive there (for us it's an hour one way) again and again. Prices good but the experience is worth any price. Great job to everyone there.
Wonderful products, many of which are nostalgic. Prices are fair. Old fashioned candy that will bring back fond memories. Great toy section. Something for everyone, especially those who need a unique gift for that unique person who many be hard to buy for.
Undoubtedly one of WNY's treasures, this place is like Amazon: Live! This place has a dancing plethora of stuff you want, whatnots you should try once, and surprises you didn't even know you needed to make your life whole. I'm referring, of course, to the gifts, candies and toys, and kitchen gadget areas respectively. You must go to Vidler's, bro.
