Our departments are listed in approximate order as you come in the front door by our old fashioned candy counter and walk through our store. But half the fun of Vidler’s is just wandering around and discovering all of our nooks and crannies. We have two, full floors – so make sure to visit both levels! In addition to all of the merchandise you will see on our counters and walls, keep an eye out for the original cash register used when the store first opened; various paintings and images of our buildings by local artists over the years; proclamations and declarations by local and national politicians – including a president!

Candy – See our original candy counter and the incredible selection of old-time favorites such as Necco Wafers, Sky Bars, Mallo Cups, Sugar Daddies, Satellite Wafers, Crystal Beach Suckers, French Chew Taffy, Mary Janes, wax bottles, rock candy – and so many more! We also carry a variety of chocolates and hard candies – by the pound or by the penny -- as much or as little as you would like!
Retro & Collectable – A collection of items sure to make you smile and reminisce about movies and TV shows from yester-year up to the present. Wall art, figurines, mugs, tins, key chains, glasses, magnets and more – from The Wizard of Oz and Lucy to Hannah Montana and Spiderman!
Toys – For kids from ages 8 to 80! Experience toy shopping the way it used to be in a good ole’ five and dime! We specialize in traditional, ageless toys that children have always liked: yo-yo’s, slide whistles, wooden pop guns, kazoos and other musical instruments; puzzles, rubber bugs and plastic animals of every kind; paper dolls, models, coloring books and a large selection of board games. Novelty hats, wacky wind-ups and Jack-in-the-box… both kids and kids-at-heart love our toy section. You’re sure to hear squeals of delight when somebody discovers something new or old!

Books / Stationery – Everything you ever needed for every school project you have or will be assigned! Paper, pens, binders, folders and miscellaneous ‘stuff’ – foam board, poster-board, Play Doh and weaving loops. From flash cards to pocket calculators and CD’s by stars past and present can be found here. In addition to some classic books, we also carry books of regional interest and by local authors.
Home & Garden Décor – Bird feeders and baths, sun dials, hanging mobiles, door mats, garden plaques and ornaments, thermometers and much more are available. In this section we also carry American flags, poles and brackets and a complete line of Girl Scout uniforms from Brownie through Junior, Cadet and Senior Scout.
Frames and More – We feature a terrific selection of wood, brass, pewter and metal picture frames along with pre-cut mats. We’re well known for our marvelous selection of plate and cup racks, stands and easels. Scrap books and all their accessories can be found here, along with photo albums, picture hooks and wire.

Candles, Bath & Body – See our colorful array of candles, candle holders/rings and related accessories. We carry a vast selection of hard to find tapered candles, and you will also find incense, beaded garland and other decorative items in this area. Soaps, lotions and aromatherapy products can be found here, along with full selection of Crabtree & Evelyn merchandise. You can also find Heritage lace doilies, place mats and curtains in this room, along with window shades which can be custom cut!
